I strongly believe that we all have the capacity for creativity and it is just a matter of finding the best outlet for you.
I studied textiles at school and always enjoyed sewing but didn’t get back into it until I joined a new band eight years ago. Frustrated by the lack of stage dresses, I decided to try my hand at making them myself. I asked for a sewing machine that Christmas and promptly made a 50’s style prom dress in a gorgeous maroon taffeta.
My mother is a great source of inspiration and knowledge – she resorted to making her own clothes when she was a teenager, as she could never find anything small enough to fit her.
As well as outfits for myself, I love making Christmas gifts for friends and family, anything from scarves to sock animals.
When I’m not sewing, I also love to sing, bake and write. I also manage to fit in a full time job in marketing too!
I look forward to sharing my work with you and building a crafty community.
I should also add that there may be a few mentions of my cat, Jasmine, too!
