Draft your perfect jeans – block, pattern and fit weekender!
By popular demand, jeans are here! Over the course of the weekend you will learn how to turn your trouser block into some seriously smoking jeans, with the help of resident fit obsessive Serefina: aka Fina Makes.
You will adapt your trouser block into a jeans block and then use this to draft your dream jeans pattern! We’re talking yokes, waistbands, pockets and fly zips. Yee ha!
On day 2 you will have the opportunity to toile your jeans in the fabric supplied and have a fitting to ensure that you are ready to go on cutting out that gorgeous denim you’ve been saving. There is an optional third day where you can learn all the tricks and tips about jeans construction to ensure they look as professional as possible.
To participate in this course you MUST have a trouser block that is fitted to you (a block is not the same thing as a pattern!).
If you’ve never drafted a trouser block, please take this course before attempting jeans.
Obviously, if you’re one of our fabulous trouser alumni then you’re good to go!
You’ll be asked to confirm that you have a trouser block that is fitted to your size before you are confirmed onto the course- this is because we cram a LOT in to the weekend and there will not be time for correcting issues with the base block. The is a two day course and will run on both Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am until 5:00pm (water, tea and coffee will be provided, please bring your own lunch)

Specialising in fit, over the last 20 years Serefina has honed multiple skills in the fields of fashion & costume – working as a tailor and pattern cutter for luxury fashion and simultaneously as a corset maker and costume designer for cabaret, burlesque and drag.
For the past 8 years she has been passionately teaching her knowledge in pattern making and fit – both to individuals and to companies such as Harrods, Asos and Monsoon as well as start ups and small businesses.
In 2018 she was the pattern designer for Tilly and the Buttons and it was here that her love of sewing merged with digital and since then the self proclaimed ‘analogue girl’ has gone on to create Fina Makes; an online pattern cutting tutorial brand.
